Equality Virginia PAC Endorses 89 Pro-Equality Champions for the Virginia General Assembly

RICHMOND, VA – Today, Equality Virginia PAC, the elections arm of the Commonwealth’s leading advocacy organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) equality, released its endorsements for candidates for the general assembly ahead of the Virginia elections on November 7, 2023. See below for full remarks from Equality Virginia PAC’s executive director Narissa Rahaman from a press conference today announcing these endorsements.

“This fall, we have the opportunity to secure and expand the rights of LGBTQ+ Virginians by electing pro-equality legislators to both chambers of the general assembly,” said Narissa Rahaman, executive director of Equality Virginia PAC. “As the Youngkin administration has openly tried to roll back the rights of LGBTQ+ Virginians through several different avenues, the general assembly serves as a crucial check on executive overreach. For us to fight back, we have to have strong allies prepared to fight for us. That’s why we are so proud today to endorse candidates for the general assembly who will do just that. We must elect pro-equality champions who will secure and strengthen our freedoms. We must show the country that Virginia is a welcoming, hospitable place to live. We have that chance as the eyes of the nation are on us this November. These candidates will do just that.”
